FROM A TV REPAIR BUSINESS TO THE LARGEST SPARE PARTS SPECIALIST IN EUROPE
The problem solver for retailers and service organisations for more than 40 years.
In 1968 Astrid and Karl-Börris Aschitsch founded their TV repair business and workshop. In the years that followed, they decided to solve the spare part supply problems of the specialised trade, that they themselves had experienced - ASWO was founded in 1974.
Commitment to the satisfaction of our customers:
The ASWO concept was based on two simple questions:
- What would I be looking for if I was a customer?
- How would I like to be treated as a customer?
This customer focus has enabled ASWO to grow from a small TV retailer into a market leader. Today, ASWO operates from 28 locations and supplies 39 European countries. As ASWO continues to grow, it's dedication to customer satisfaction remains as strong as ever.
Our daily mission:
Perfect service for our customers - every day we start again and try to do things even better!
Astrid and Karl-Börris Aschitsch open their radio and television shop and repair service.
After 6 years of activity, Astrid and Karl-Börris Aschitsch decide to address the problem of spare parts availability which was limiting their ability to deliver excellent customer service.
This is how ASWO was founded.
After many years we leave our retail shop with a heavy heart, because all our strenght and concentration are needed for this new task.
ASWO moves to Eime where we move into our first company premises (Unter den Tannen).
ASWO soon outgrows the building. The company building is extended by 2 floors.
ASWO opens its first subsidiaries.
• 1982: ASWO Austria, Netherlands
After many extensions and reorganisations ASWO outgrows its first building at Unter den Tannen in Eime and moves into a new building at Schachtweg (also in Eime) tripling its storage capacity.
ASWO expands into the following European countries:
• 1987: ASWO France
• 1988: ASWO Belgium
• 1989: ASWO Greece
• 1990: ASWO Hungary
At the same time, ASWO opens franchise companies in 22 European countries.
With the European expansion the German building becomes the distribution centre for all ASWO partners. A new logistics hall is built with new conveyor systems.
Other European countries follow:
• 1999: ASWO Bosnia Herzegovina
• 2001: ASWO Sweden, Spain, Czech Republic
As we become approved distributors for more manufacturers, ASWO needs more space. A new hall is built, and storage capacity is increased to 9000 m2.
In addition, a modern call centre is set up.
• 2003: ASWO Bulgaria
A new warehouse is built, offering a total storage capacity of 13.000m2 with 380.000 storage locations.
Further countries follow:
• 2008: ASWO Norway
• 2009: ASWO Serbia
• 2014: ASWO Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania
A new 7.400m2 warehouse is built, complete with the latest logistics. The heart of this new warehouse is an automatically controlled small parts warehouse.
• 2016: ASWO UK
• 2017: ASWO Switzerland
• 33.000m² storage capacity
